Patravadi Mejudhon, renowned actress, director, playwright and founder of the Patravadi Theatre added new chapters to Thailand’s history of performing arts and education by creating an imaginative arts complex,

Vic Hua Hin, in 2010.

Vic Hua Hin is a new institution for arts and culture for the new generation. Patravadi Mejudhon’s vision is to create a comprehensive arts complex where art and culture is learned, shared, enjoyed and exchanged, for Thai and international visitors, students and artists alike. Theatre, gallery, school, accommodation, restaurant… various spaces are designed so as to inspire the combination of ideas and skills in a creative approach.

“Vic” comes from “Old Vic”, the common name for London’s famous Royal Victorian Theatre founded in 19th century. The theatre has been the stage for the greatest performers in the past century. “Hua Hin” is the district where the arts complex is located in province Prachuap Kirikhan, Thailand. Hua Hin is an idyllic beachside resort town, where royal residences like Maruekatayawan Palace and Klai Kangwon Palace have been built since the reign of Rama VI. Hua Hin is also the cradle of His Majesty the King Bhumibol’s (Rama 9) many royal projects. For their love towards their King, Hua Hin has a special place in the hearts of Thai people.

Vic Hua Hin has 5 major operations:

  • Vic Hua Hin Theatre and Vic Hua Hin Gallery

  • Patravadi High School Hua Hin

  • Art Camps and Weekend School

  • Nai Dee Sculptured Huts

  • Venue Rental

Honoured by the gracious presence of HRH Srirasmi and Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, Vic Hua Hin was inaugurated on 22 January 2010 together with the opening of 10th edition of Fringe Festival 2010 @ Hua Hin.
